Hackers on the web are just as active as we are. • Try MFA as a Security Practice – MFA is multi-factor authentication. When you use MFA as a form of password, the system can be accessed only after all the layers of security are cleared. This is one practice that highly discourages hackers. So try to use it wherever you can. 

2. Installing Software Updates

If you have an obsolete version of a password and you haven’t yet installed the updates that the software developers have released for the public, then you’re inviting a lot of trouble. Updated software versions are released when bugs from the previous versions are patched. Not using the updated version means hackers will still be able to use those bugs to infiltrate your system. 

3. Using Password Management Tools

Here’s what you need to know and do when you have multiple passwords.

• Do not note those passwords down in a file that’s not encrypted. 
• There are password management tools that are developed just for the purpose of saving passwords. In this way, you’ll have just one password to remember – the password of the management tool you’re using. 

Last, but not the least, always remember to backup your data. Remember, no matter how many cybersecurity techniques and layers you use, nothing on the internet is 100% safe. Having the data backed up is thus one of the best practices to deal with the problem of ransomware – since you’ll already have the data that the hacker has hacked, you won’t have to pay them any ransom to recover the data.
